The annual Indiana Coaches Association All State teams were recently released in Cross Country and two Lady Eagles earned Class 2A All State Honors - Senior Biruk Travis and Junior Quinn Brunner. After the season is complete the Coaches Association releases their All State Teams that are broken up into the four classes used for basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball. Travis has been All State now three times in her career with the other honors coming at the Class 3A level. This is the first All State Honor for Brunner. Roughly 30+ athletes make the All State Team in Class 2A each fall. Travis and Brunner earned the honor by helping lead the Lady Eagles to a remarkable fall season which featured two Runner Up finishes at major invites, a Grant 4 Championship, a Central Indiana Conference Championship, and an IHSAA Marion Sectional Championship - the teams 5th in the last 9 seasons. The Lady Eagles climbed from not being ranked preseason to as high as #7 in Class 2A in the online computer rankings. The team qualified for the IHSAA New Haven Super Regional. Both individually were All County, All Conference, and All Sectional. Travis was the individual Champion at the Grant 4, Conference, and Sectional while earning a podium spot in four additional major invites. Travis concluded her career ranked 7th all time in OHXC Program History. Her senior was ranked the 16th best season by a Lady Eagle in Program History. Brunner was the individual Runner Up behind Travis at both the Grant 4 and Conference while taking 3rd for a 1-3 finish at the Sectional. Brunner also earned podium finishes at four major invites. Brunner continued to climb the OHXC Program All Time list breaking into the Top 20 reaching 18th. Her season was ranked the 25th best season by a Lady Eagle in Program History. By making the All State team this fall Travis and Brunner became 1 of 75 athletes to earn All State Honors for OHXC in the last 25 years. Travis is 1 of only 18 athletes in program history to earn multiple All State Honors. OHXC has now had at last one Class 2A or 3A All State Athlete for 26 straight years. Travis and Brunner joined a group of 4 Golden Eagles on the All State Team for a Program All Time best 6 All State honorees.
