The Golden Eagles were unstoppable today at the ECSC Championships. The boys won convincingly led by a group of dominating upperclassmen and surging underclassmen. In total we had 23 season best swims, 5 school records (2 relay and 3 individual) and two swimmers that moved up into the top ten all time list for program history. We won a total of 9 events out of a possible 12. We placed all 3 swimmers and our diver in the top 8 in every event. Top 8 is a podium performance and gets recognized. Our depth was on display today and I am so proud of the effort from these young men. Today's breakout performer was Cooper McQuiston. Cooper had 4 first place swims and all 4 went for new school records. His brother Max also had himself a day at the pool. He had a personal best in all his swims and now ranks 9th all time in the 500 free. Keagon Ashley also had an incredible meet. He lowered his 50 free and took second, but his big swim was the 100 fly. Keagon dropped 3 seconds and is now under the minute in the 100 fly with a time of 58.64. Evan Bledsoe crushed the competition in the 100 breaststroke and broke the school record. Going a blistering 57.88. I could write much more about every kid. Everyone was incredible today.
