Both teams came out offensively well hitting shots and running the floor which led to a 25-20 first quarter lead for the Eagles. However in the 2nd quarter the Golden Eagles buckled down their stingy defense winning the quarter 17-8 and taking a 14 point lead, with a last second shot by Luke Elzinga! The Eagles then held that lead the rest of the game ultimate winning by 19 over a very good Lapel team. Another total team victory with 4 different players getting into double digits and many more playing their smothering team defense! Senior RJ Shugart led the way with 18 points and a pair of rebounds. Freshman Will Tonagel had an overall great game scoring 17 points, with 6 steals and 4 assists. Junior KD Simmons scored 16 points off the bench with a pair of rebounds and assists as well as 3 steals. Junior Jace Tonagel scored 11 points with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Rounding out the scoring was Luke Elzinga with 4 points and 5 rebounds, and Jayden Younce with 2 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Your #1 ranked Golden Eagles are still undefeated at 14-0 and go for a tying Oak Hill record 15 game win streak as they travel to Western Thursday night.
