Senior night and your seniors stepped up to help the team get a big win over TRC Conference (15-4) Champions Northwestern. It was a complete team effort and a big night for the seniors who were recognized before the start of the game. Senior Beckham Lamb got the scoring started from an assist from senior RJ Shugart to take the lead and your Golden Eagles never looked back. Senior RJ Shugart led the way in the first quarter scoring 9 of his 12 points in that frame! Sophomore Will Tonagel coming off the bench on senior night tallied 13 points in the 2nd quarter to pace the offense and help take the Eagles to a 49-27 halftime lead. It was pretty balanced in the third quarter as the Eagles extended their lead to a 39 point lead. Then in the 4th quarter Senior Corbin Dailey took over the game and the crowd as he erupted for 11 of his career high 13 points! As Corbin was dropping buckets, the crowd was going crazy, and when he nailed his three pointer the decibel noise went to a whole nother level! What a fun night for the entire team and what a great night to send the seniors home with a win for the last time playing on their home floor. Stats for the game: Jace Tonagel led the scoring with 17 points and 4 assists. Will Tonagel had 16 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Senior Corbin Dailey had 13 points and a game high 5 rebounds. Senior RJ Shugart had 12 points, with 3 assists and 3 rebounds. Jayden Younce had 12 points with his hot shooting from behind the arch. Luke Elzinga had 8 points and a pair of rebounds. Senior Landon Watts had a game high 5 steals, with 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Landon Cruzan, KD Simmons, and Beckham Lamb rounded out the scoring with 2 points each. The Golden Eagles are now 20–1 on the season with one game to play in the regular season Friday night at Delta. The seniors wanted to make sure to let everyone know how much they appreciated the support of the crowd and how you all turned out for tonight‘s game.
