What a great atmosphere and a great turnout supporting the Golden Eagles at the Muncie Field House semi-state! Unfortunately the Golden Eagles came up just short falling to Ft Wayne Luers 64-68. The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early lead on a Will Tonagel three point shot and went on to a 5-0 start. Then Luers went on a little run and back and forth it went with the Eagles staking a 17-14 lead after one. In the 2nd quarter Luers got to the basket and hit threes to take the lead at halftime 35-31. The back and forth 3rd quarter saw the Eagles close the gap to 1 point as the 4th quarter started with a Luers 49-48 lead. The 4th quarter saw 6 different Eagles get buckets, but the Luers clutch free throw shooting, making 9 of 10 sealed the deal. With the loss the Golden Eagles finish a record setting 25-2 for the best winning percentage for a season in Oak Hill’s rich basketball history! The 2026 Golden Eagles finished as Grant 4 Champs, Undefeated CIC Conference Champs, Sectional Champs, and Oak Hill’s 4th ever Regional Championship! It was a season for the ages, and the boys played their hearts out up to the last second of the last game. A big thanks to Eagle Nation for the support all season long, it was incredible! The future is bright for Golden Eagle basketball! Stats for the Semi-State game: Jace Tonagel finished with 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Will Tonagel finished with 19 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Senior RJ Shugart finished with 7 points and a rebound. KD Simmons finished with 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Jayden Younce had 4 points and 3 rebounds. Senior, Landon Watts scored 2 points and an assist.
