OHTF Advances 5 Individuals & 7 of 8 Relays to the HSR Indoor State Finals - Tippey Qualifies in 4 Events While Myers & Brunner Both Qualify in 3 Events

The 2026 Hoosier State Relays Indoor State Finals final list of Qualifiers was made official Tuesday and in all 5 OHTF Individuals along with a combined 7 Golden Eagle and Lady Eagle Relays earned spots in the event. The the last 3+ weeks teams and athletes throughout the state have been competing at indoor HSR Qualifiers attempting to earn a spot in the Top 24 in their respective event to compete this Saturday March 28th at the Indiana State Fairgrounds at the Fall Creek Pavilion in the Indoor State Championships. The championships are broken into 2 divisions / classes using the IHSAA Football Classifications. The Big School Division is Class 4a-5-6a with OHTF competing in the Small School Division which consists of Class 1a-2a-3a. Golden Eagle Senior Corban Tippey joined a short list of just 3 OHTF athletes to qualify for the HSR Finals is all 4 of his events (Sammy Sommers and Tahj Johnson). Tippey individually qualified in 3200 Meter Run and as a member of the 4x400 Meter Relay, 4x800 Meter Relay, and Distance Medley Relay. Tippey became just the 2nd Golden Eagle to qualify for the HSR Finals in the 3200 joining Cameron Balser. The last time a Golden Eagle competed in the 3200 at the HSR Finals was Balser in 2010. With his 4 event qualifications in 2026 Tippey has now qualified for the HSR Finals 9 times which ranks 3rd all time in Program History behind Lance Wyrick and Sommers (both qualified 10 times in their careers). Joining Tippey on all three relays is Golden Eagle Classmate Caden Myers. Myers, who now has qualified for the HSR Finals 6 times and moves into the Top 8 all time in Program history (in just 2 seasons) joins a short list of 3 event HSR State Qualifiers. Tippey and Myers are joined on the 4x400 Relay by Classmate Marc Caritos and Sophomore Christian Smiley. Smiley's classmate Noah Wagner has also competed on the relay during the qualifying events. For the 4th straight year the Golden Eagles will be competing in the HSR Finals in the 4x800 Relay. Joining Tippey and Myers is Junior Wyatt Hart and Smiley. Freshman Graham Arrendale has also competed on the relay during the HSR qualifying events. The DMR consists of Tippey, Myers, Hart, and Caritos. The other Golden Eagle HSR Finals individual Qualifiers are both returning to the HSR Finals after earning All State Top 8 Medals in 2025. Junior Kyle Brower earned a sport in the Pole Vault, while classmate Jalen Scott is back in the 60 Meter Dash. Browser and Scott both own program records in their respective events. Junior Quinn Brunner led the way for the Lady Eagles with 3 HSR Finals Qualifications. Brunner like Tippey earned a spot in the 3200. It is the 1st time since 2019 a Lady Eagle made the HSR 3200. Brunner becomes just the 4th Lady Eagle HSR 3200 Finals Qualifier joining Margo Hornocker, Mollie Gamble, and Jenna Norris. Brunner also earned HSR Finals qualifications as a member of the 4x800 Meter Relay and Distance Medley Relay. Joining Brunner on the 4x800 is Senior Biruk Travis, Sophomore Lilly Hunt, and Freshman Cali Myers. Travis and Hunt are also on the DMR with Brunner along with Senior Audrey Rex. Junior Kora Pond, Sophomore Emi Babinksi, and Freshman Shelby Hollingsworth have all competed on the relays during the HSR Qualifiers. Brunner, Travis, and Rex have now each qualified for the HSR Finals 6 times in their career moving them all into the Top 10 All Time in Program History. Pond fresh off a long basketball season still managed to qualify for the HSR Finals in multiple events and is now 4th all time with 9 HSR qualifications trailing only Ellie Campbell, Hornocker, and Danielle Thompson. She joins OHTF Assistant Coach Ireland Kelsheimer (Dodson), Janae Moffitt, and Gamble as 9 time Qualifiers. Pond is part of the 4x400 and 4x200 Relays that helped earned the Lady Eagles HSR Finals spots in all 4 relays. It marks just the 2nd time in Program history the Lady Eagles have qualified all 4 relays. Joining Pond on the 4x200 and 4x400 is classmate Lilly Edwards. Pond and Edwards are joined on the 4x200 with Junior Annie Hale and Rex. Sophomores Bri Dailey, Taylor Campbell, and Babinksi have all competed for the 4x200 as well. The 4x400 consists of Pond, Edwards, Dailey, and Junior Erika Newhouse. Babinksi has also competed on the relay a long with Rex. Dailey joins Brunner as the Lady Eagle's only individual Qualifiers as she earned a spot in the High Jump. OHTF competes in the HSR Finals Saturday with the Small School Division starting at 3 pm.
