Oak Hill High School

The Oak Hill Golden Eagles beat Eastern tonight 13-9. Eastern scored a run in the bottom of the first inning to put them ahead 0-1. Oak Hill was able to get runners into scoring position, but struggled to hit them in until the 5th inning. The Eagles put 7 runs on the board in the 5th. The inning started off with a single from Brailyn Peterson, followed by another single from Ryleigh Myers. Becca Cardona laid down a bunt for an RBI single. Jolee Hawkins hit a shallow ball to right field and scored R. Myers. Ericah Emery came in to run for Hawkins. Pathie Speicher laid down a beautiful bunt for a single to load the bases and Kierstin Peterson came in to run for her. Kalinn Larimore hit a line drive to left scoring a run and reached first on the error by the left fielder. Madi Evans hit a blooper over second base to score 2 runs. Ava David hit a fly ball into left for the first out of the inning, but on a throwing error back into the infield, Larimore was able to score and Evans advanced to third. B. Peterson, who started off the inning, came back up and an an RBI single. Eastern responded with one run in the bottom of the 5th and three in the 6th to make the score 7-5. The Eagles scored 6 runs in the top of the 7th inning to go ahead 13-5. Ava David flew out to center for the first out. Kierstin Peterson drew a walk and was followed with a single by her sister, Brailyn. Becca Cardona reached on an error and scored K. Peterson. Jolee Hawkins was hit by a pitch to score B. Peterson. Pathie Speicher hit left center fence for a double scoring 2 runs. Kalinn Larimore hit an RBI single into left field to round out scoring for the inning. Eastern ended up scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning, but came up short. R. Myers went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored. Becca Cardona went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs. J. Hawkins had 2 RBIs. P. Speicher with 2 for 5 with 3 RBIs. K. Larimore went 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs. M. Evans with 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs. B. Peterson went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. Pathie Speicher pitched the first 5 innings for the Eagles. She had 4 strikeouts and only allowed 2 runs. Kora Weller finished the game for Oak Hill and had 1 strikeout. The Eagles are now 2-0 and host Northwestern tomorrow at 6pm.
