The Lady Eagles won a close game tonight against Northwestern 2-1. Both teams remained scoreless until Oak Hill managed to steal a run in the bottom of the 5th. Ryleigh Myers started the inning off with a slap to the third basemen who overthrew first base and ending up rolling past the right fielder. Myers was a blur on the bases and crossed home plate, beating the throw in to make the score 1-0. Northwestern was able to tie it up in the top of the 7th. Oak Hill had the chance to win and took it in the bottom of the 7th. Ryleigh Myers was walked and stole 2nd base. Jolee Hawkins drew a walk and Ericah Emery came in to run for her. Myers and Emery stole 3rd and 2nd to put themselves into scoring position with Speicher up to bat. Pathie Speicher battled through several pitches with 2 outs and came out on top with a walk to load the bases. Kalinn Larimore swung at the first pitch and drove the ball up the middle for a walk-off RBI single to win the game for the Eagles. R. Myers went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. B. Cardona, K. Larimore, and B. Peterson had 1 hit each. Pathie Speicher pitched all 7 innings and had 6 strikeouts. The Lady Eagles return to play Monday at home vs Bluffton.
