After braving the hail, rain, and thunderstorms, the Lady Eagles were able to get their fifth win of the season against North Miami. Oak Hill scored one run in the first inning with 2 outs. Jolee Hawkins had a single into left, followed by an RBI double by Pathie Speicher. The Eagles put another run on the board in the second inning. Kora Weller hit a single into left and Ava David laid down a sacrifice bunt and was safe at second base after a wild throw past first. Brailyn moved her over to third and Ryleigh Myers hit her in on a single. Becca Cardona started the next inning off with a triple into center. She was hit in by Pathie Speicher's single. Oak Hill scored two more runs in the fourth inning to make the score 5-0. Ava David reached second on an error by the left fielder. Brailyn Peterson hit to the shortstop and was out at first, but A. David was able to score after an errant throw by the first baseman. R. Myers stepped up and hit an inside the park homerun into left. North Miami was able to score two runs in the top of the fifth inning after a couple of errors by the Eagles, but the girls got them back and more in the bottom of the fifth. Pathie Speicher led off with a long single into left and Sierra Snyder came in to run for her. Kalinn Larimore grabbed a walk and Kierstin Peterson followed with another walk to load the bases. Ava David stepped up and hit a beautiful single to score two runs. R. Myers reached on a single to load the bases once again. B. Cardona then hit a bomb into left to score three runs. North Miami was able to score one more run in the bottom of the 7th to make the score 10-3. R. Myers went 4 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs. She had 2 put outs and 1 assist at shortstop. B. Cardona went 3 for 3 with one run and three RBIs. She had 2 assists at second base. J. Hawkins had 11 put outs and 1 assist behind the plate. P. Speicher went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and 7 put outs at first base. A. David went 1 for 2 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Kora Weller started off in the pitching mound and pitched four innings until she was hit with a line drive to the shin. She had 4 strikeouts and only allowed one hit. Brailyn Peterson came in to relieve Weller and finished the game for the Eagles. She pitched three innings and had 5 strikeouts and only allowed 1 hit. Oak Hill returns to play Thursday April 16 at home against Maconaquah at 5pm.
