Softball (Girls V) Scores

The Lady Eagles overcame a 3-6 deficit to win against Lewis Cass 11-7. The Kings struck first scoring three runs with two outs. Oak Hill answered with two of their own runs all with two outs. Jolee Hawkins walked and Ericah Emery came in to run for her. Kalinn Larimore made it to first on an error by the shortstop and was also able to advance to second to get into scoring position with Emery at third. Kierstin Peterson came up and hit a shot into right center that bounced over the fence for a ground rule double and two RBIs. Lewis Cass was able to capitalize on three errors by the Eagles in the second inning to score another run to make the score 4-2. They scored two more in the third after another couple errors to make the score 6-2. Oak Hill was able to get one run back in the bottom of the third. Ryleigh Myers had a single and then stole second base. On the steal, the catcher overthrew the shortstop and the ball rolled past the center fielder. Myers capitalized on the errors and was able to cross home plate. Oak Hill held Lewis Cass and did not let them score over the next couple innings. Kierstin Peterson advanced to second on an error. Madi Evans moved her over to third on a 1-3 and Kora Weller scored her on a hard hit ball to third. The Eagles put four runs on the board in the fifth inning. Hawkins led off with a walk. Aubrey Miller came in to run for her. Kalinn Larimore hit a ground rule double to advance Miller to third. K. Peterson laid down a great bunt towards the second basemen for an RBI single. Emery advanced to first on a fielder's choice 6-2. Kora Weller hit a long single that bounced off the fence. Ava David stepped up to the plate and hit a three-run homer over left field fence. Her hit helped Oak Hill take the lead to make it 8-6. Oak Hill put up three more runs in the sixth inning. Myers started off the inning with a single up the middle. She stole second. Jolee Hawkins was able to make it to first when the shortstop decided to hold it to keep Myers at second. R. Myers stole third and Miller stole second. Kierstin hit another hard grounder to shortstop and was able score two runs and make it to second on a throwing error. Ericah Emery got up and hit the fence for an RBI double. R. Myers went 3 for 4 with two runs and had 1 put out and 2 assists. P. Speicher had 9 put outs and 1 assist at first base. J. Hawkins went 1 for 2 and had 7 put outs. K. Peterson went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and five RBIs. K. Weller went 1 for 4 with one RBI. A. David went 1 for 3 with one run scored and three RBIs. She had 1 put out and 2 assists. Kora Weller got the win today from the mound. She pitched seven innings and had six strikeouts. Oak Hill returns to play Thursday for their first conference game against Frankton at home.
