JHTF Golden Eagles Win Dual Meet at Mississinewa - Blair Wins 2 Events Breaking 2 Program Records

The JHTF Golden Eagles won a Dual meet Thursday at Mississinewa over the host Indians 63-46. It was a combined event so all 6th-7th-8th grade athletes competed together. In all the boys won 7 of 13 events. 8th Graders Brantley Blair and Sam Fern both were multi-event winners of the Golden Eagles. Blair won both the 1600 Meter Run and 800 Meter Run in new Program Record times of 4:28 and 2:05. Both were new personal bests for Blair who had recently won the Middle School Indoor State 1600 Meter Run in 4:29. He had previously set the 1600 record last year in 4:47. Blair led a 1st through 4th place sweep in the 800 followed by classmate Colson Woodard, 7th Grader Hunter Ramey, and 8th Grader Brantley Trexler. Fern continued to perform well in the throws as he won both the Shot Put and Discus. Additional event winners on the night were all from 8th Gaders Isaiah Miller in the High Jump, Evan Smiley won the 110 Meter Hurdles, and Keaton Vetor won the 2400 Meter Run where he led a 1-2 finish with 6th Grader Wesley Hagan.
