OHTF Squads Combine to Finish Runner Up at the Oak Hill Relays Setting 3 New Meet Records - Tippey Wins MVP Winning 2 Events & Setting New Meet Record in 3200m. Travis & Brunner Win Multiple Events

The OHTF Golden Eagles and Lady Eagles combined to compete together in the annual "Co-Ed" Oak Hill Relays Saturday tying for 2nd with a very talented Bluffton team. OHTF and Bluffton (two programs who combined to win the Boys and Girls IHSAA Marion Sectionals in 2025) both scored 143 points trailing only Delta who is one of the best teams and programs in Class 3a and won with 164 points. Adam Central was a distant 4th with 68 points. The event features all "Co-Ed" Relays (2 boys and 2 girls) and Individual Event "foursomes" combined. In all OHTF won 4 scored events in total with 2 combined individual events wins, 2 relay wins, Runner Up honors in 2 combined individual events and another 3 relays, as well as 4 individual events wins and 3 new meet records. OHTF Golden Eagle Senior Corban Tippey led the way earning the prestigious Glen Smith Most Valuable Male Athlete Award for the meet. Tippey earned the honor by individually winning the 3200 Meter Run in a new Meet Record 9:44.17. It not only was a new personal best for Tippey and 8th All Time in OHTF Program History but broke a record that had stood since 2011 (9:44.62). Tippey also helped win the "combined" 3200 Meter Run along with Junior Golden Eagle Wyatt Hart along with Lady Eagle Senior Biruk Travis and Junior Quinn Brunner. All 3 ran new personal best outdoor times in the event to help set a New Meet Record in the the event overall clocking 43 minute and 42 seconds besting the old mark by 10 seconds set by another OHTF foursome in 2018 by Dillon Mitchell, Mac Cheek, Margo Hornocker, and Mollie Gamble. Travis was 2nd overall in the girls event while Hart and Brunner were each 3rd respectively. Travis ran the 4th best time in Program History while Brunner ran a Top 10 time and Hart a Top 20. Tippey combined with Brunner and Travis again to win the 4x800 Meter Upperclassmen Relay along with Golden Eagle Senior Caden Myers. Tippey also added a Runner Up finish in the "All Class" Distance Medley Relay along with Hart and Lady Eagle Sophomore Lilly Hunt and Freshman Cali Meyer. The 4x800 Meter Underclassmen Relay also took 1st with Hunt and Myers teaming up with Sophomores Christian Smiley and Josh Clark. Three Golden Eagle Juniors managed to win Individual Events with Kyle Brower winning the Pole Vault, Luke Elzinga winning the Long Jump, and Jalen Scott winning the 100 Meter Dash. Scott matched the Meet Record in the 100 clocking a 10.8. Elzinga posted a new personal best 21-9.75, a mark that is 4th All time in Program History. Brower led a 1-2 finish in the Pole Vault for OHTF with classmate Meyer Middlesworth. Brower and Middlesworth combined with Senior Lady Eagle Ava Keith and Sophomore Callie Nuber to win the Pole Vault with a total combined height of 41 feet and 6 inches. Keith took 3rd overall in the girls event. Additional OHTF Runner Up finishing combined foursomes on the day were in the 300 Meter Hurdles, Shot Put, and Discus. Senior Lady Eagle Lexi Nuber led the way in the 300 Hurdles with a 2nd Place Individually followed closely but Junior Erika Newhouse in 3rd. Nuber and Newhouse combined with Golden Eagle Freshman Dylan Hardcastle who was 3rd overall individually and Junior Rocky Johnson to take 2nd in the event. Senior Golden Eagle Thane Jones set a new personal best in the Shot Put passing his brother Silas on the Top 20 All Time List to lead OHTF to a 2nd in the event along with Junior Tristin Grinslade along with Lady Eagle Senior Sarah Beth Tripp and Sophomore Aubree Barcomb. Jones, Grinslade, and Tripp combined with Lady Eagle Sophomore Brooklyn Young to take 2nd in the Disc. Lady Eagle Freshman Eva Tripp took 2nd overall in the High Jump. The 4x100 Meter Underclassmen Relay and 4x400 Meter Upperclassmen relays both took 2nd for OHTF. The 4x1 consisted of Sophomore Lady Eagles Riley Archer and Taylor Campbell along with Golden Eagle Sophomore Kiegen Phillippe and Freshman Tayt Bowlin. The 4x4 relay was made up of Nuber and Elzinga along with Lady Eagle Junior Kora Pond and Golden Eagle Senior Marc Caritos. 3rd Place OHTF Relay and combined event finishes were - Long Jump - Elzinga, Cayden Jones, Keith, Newhouse 400 Meter Dash - Noah Wagner, Braylon Carey, Lilly Edwards, Emi Babinski High Jump - Tripp, Sophia Rowland, Elzinga, Jesse Zwirn 100 Meter Dash - Scott, Dylan Archer, Pond, Annie Hale Sprint Medley Relay - Caritos, Rex, Hale, C. Jones Middle Distance Relay - Pond, C. Myers, Hunt, Cal. Myers 4x400 Underclassmen - Smiley, Hardcastle, Babinski, Myers Both OHTF squads are back in action at home Tuesday April 28th when they host Blackford and Madison Grant in their last tune up before hosting the Grant 4 Championship next Friday May 1st.
