OHTF Golden Eagles Score 101 Points to Win a Triangular Meet over Blackford & Madison Grant - Archer Wins Multiple Events

The OHTF Golden Eagles won 10 of 16 events Tuesday to break the 100 point barrier totaling 101 points in a triangular win over visiting Blackford and Madison Grant. The Golden Eagles managed a 1st through 3rd place sweep in 5 events with a 1st through 4th sweep in 3 events. Madison Grant scored 36 points while Blackford totaled 28. The Golden Eagles spread the wealth around as only 1 athlete managed to win multiple events on the night in Junior Dylan Archer. Archer grabbed a pair of wins as a member of the winning 4x100 Meter Relay and 4x400 Meter Relay. Joining him on the 4x1 were classmates Cayden Jones and Jalen Scott along with Freshman Tayt Bowlin. Archer led off the winning 4x4 as he was joined by Sophomores Christian Smiley, Noah Wagner, and Braylon Carey. Junior Luke Elzinga won the 400 Meter Dash leading a 1st through 5th place sweep followed by Senior Caden Myers, Senior Marc Caritos, Carey, and Sophomore Jacob Morrow. He also added a 2nd place finish in the High Jump and Long Jump. Sophomore Jesse Zwirn won the High Jump and was part of a 1st through 4th place finish in the 300 Meter Hurdles taking 2nd to Golden Eagle Freshman Dylan Hardcastle. Juniors Konner Bullick and Rocky Johnson went 3rd and 4th. Zwirn added a 3rd in the 100 Meter Dash. Wagner took 3rd in the High Jump behind Zwirn and Elzinga. Senior Golden Eagle Jerald Graves won the 100 but is still not eligible to be varsity so that bumped Bowlin into 1st. Freshman classmate Kiegen Phillippe was 4th overall to put together a 1st through 4th place finish in the event. Seniors Wyatt Hart and Corban Tippey both posted personal bests in winning the 1600 Meter Run and 800 Meter Run at 4:44 and 2:00 respectively. Tippey led a 1-2-3 finish in the event followed by Smiley and Sophomore Josh Clark. Golden Eagle Junior Kyle Brower won the Pole Vault in a jump off clearing 13-6. Junior Meyer Middlesworth added a strong 3rd in 11-6. Junior Ben Babinski set a new personal best in 4th at 10-6. The 4x800 Meter Relay of Junior Eli Leak, Sophomores Grant Melton and Clark, along with Freshman Graham Arrendale took 1st. Melton and Arrendale both posted personal bests in breaking major time barriers in distance events as Melton broke 5 minutes in the 1600 to take 3rd while Arrendale broke 11 minutes in the 3200 Meter Run to finish 2nd. Melton posted a 4:59 while Arrendale went 10:45. Other strong performances were Hardcastle adding a 2nd in the 110 Meter Hurdles. Senior Thane Jones took 2nd in the Shot Put. Cayden Jones took 2nd in the 200 Meter Dash followed by Bowlin in 3rd. Junior Tristin Grinslade took 2nd in the Discus. The Golden Eagles host and compete in the Grant 4 Championship meet this Friday May 1st.
