Softball (Girls V) Scores

The Lady Eagles got the win tonight against conference opponent Madison-Grant 11-0. Oak Hill scored one run the first inning. Ryleigh Myers started off the inning with a single. She stole second base and on the throw down, the ball got past the second basemen and the center fielder. Myers was able to score on the error. The Eagles scored nine runs in the second inning. Jolee Hawkins drew a walk to lead off. Ericah Emery came in to run for her and stole second base. Madi Evans hit a single over second base to move Emery to third. Evans was then able to make it to second. Ava David hit the ball hard to the shortstop who tried to throw Emery out at home, but Emery slid in safe. Brailyn Peterson laid down a sacrifice bunt and was able to make it to first on a fielder's choice trying to get Evans out at third. Once again, the throw was too late. R. Myers came back up to bat and hit an RBI single. Kora Weller hit a sacrifice fly into right field to score a run. Kalinn Larimore hit the ball hard to third and scored another run for the Eagles. Kierstin Peterson hit an RBI single between third and shortstop. Pathie Speicher drew a walk and J. Hawkins followed with a walk of her own. This loaded the bases and set Madi Evans up to hit her grand slam over center field fence. Oak Hill scored one more run in the third inning. Myers started it off with a single. Kora Weller bunted her over to second for the sacrifice. Larimore hit the ball hard to left and scored Myers on the error by the left fielder. R. Myers was 3 for 4 with three runs and one RBI. K. Weller had two RBIs. K. Larimore had two RBIs. K. Peterson went 1 for 3 and had one RBI. M. Evans went 2 for 2 with two runs scored and four RBIs. Pathie Speicher pitched for the Eagles and had four strikeouts and only allowed two hits. Oak Hill returns to play Thursday at Elwood at 5pm.
