JHTF Lady Eagles Split Triangular Meet with Riverview & Lakeland Christian - 8th Grade Wins (Volmer Wins 4 Events) & 4x1 Ties Program Record, 7th Grade Takes 2nd (Blair Wins 3 Events)

The JHTF Lady Eagles split a triangular meet Monday from Huntington Riverview and Lakeland Christian. The 8th grade Lady Eagles won with 65 points over Riverview with 54 and LC with 15. In the 7th grade meet Riverview won with 83 points while the Lady Eagles took 2nd with 48. The 8th grade won 8 of 15 events on the night led by multiple multi-event winners with Kourtney Volmer winning all 4 of her events, Mileigh Miller and Allie Tonagel both winning 3 events, and Berklie Hardman winning 2 events. Volmer earned individual wins in the Long Jump and 200 Meter Dash. She earned 2 additional wins as part of the winning 4x100 Meter Relays and 4x400 Meter Relays. The 4x1 consisted of Volmer, Miller, Hardman, and Quinn Massey. The relay clocked a time of 54.8 which matches the JH Program record in the event set back in 1988. The 4x4 included Volmer, Miller, and Hardman again while this time they were joined by Tonagel. Miller individually won the 100 Meter Dash and took 2nd in the 200 behind Volmer while Tonagel individually won the 400 Meter Dash and led a 1-2-3 sweep in the High Jump with Hardman and Eevah Ewing. Other wins on the night for the 8th grade Lady Eagles was Verity Bishop in the 800 Meter Dash and Lucy Devers in the 1600 Meter Run. The 7th grade was led by 2 mulit-event winners in 6th grader Lakyn Blair who won 3 events on the night and 7th grader Brooklyn Disney along with 6th grader Brooklyn Bollhoeffer each won 2 events. Blair won the 1600 Meter Run and 800 Meter Run while also being a member of the winning 4x400 Meter Relay. Joining Blair on the relay was classmate Brooklyn Bollhoeffer along with 7th graders Rose Wyrick and Alaina Smiley. Disney grabbed a pair of individual wins in the High Jump and 2400 Meter Run while Bollheoffer added an individual win in the 400 Meter Dash leading a 1-2 finish in the event with Smiley. The Lady Eagles compete again Wednesday May 6th at home against Eastbrook.
