OHTF Lady Eagles Score 175 Points in Winning 16th Consecutive Conference Title - Nuber Wins 3 Events

The OHTF Lady Eagles followed up their 17th consecutive Grant 4 title a week ago with a more impressive effort Friday at Madison Grant to win their 16th consecutive Central Indiana Conference Championship. The Lady Eagles won 6 events and added 5 additional runner ups to score 175 points. Eastbrook was 2nd with 129 points. With the title the ladies have now combined with the Golden Eagle men to win at least 1 Conference Championship in track for 19 straight seasons. Senior Lady Eagle Lexi Nuber had a huge night as she won all 3 of her events. She swept the hurdle events winning the 100 Meter Hurdles and 300 Meter Hurdles and was part of the winning 4x400 Meter Relay. The relay team consisted of Nuber along with Juniors Kora Pond and Lilly Edwards as well as Sophomore Emi Babinksi. Pond was a multi-event winner on the night as well as she individually claimed the 400 Meter Dash with teammate sophomore Bri Dailey taking 3rd. Pond added solid points in the 200 Meter Dash and her and classmate Annie Hale went 3-4. Dailey posted a win in the High Jump with Freshman Eva Tripp taking 3rd for solid points. The endurance crew of Senior Biruk Travis, Quinn Brunner, Sophomore Lilly Hunt, and Cali Myers racked up big points all night as well combining to the distance events to score 52 points. The foursome won the the 4x800 Meter Relay and then stacked 2nd and 3rds in their respective events. Travis and Brunner took 2nd and 3rd in both the 1600 Meter Run and 3200 Meter Run. Both set new personal bests in the 1600 while Brunner added another outdoor best in the 3200. Myers and Hunt both posted personal bests in the 800 Meter Run taking 2nd and 3rd. Senior Ava Keith and Sophomore Callie Nuber grabbed strong points in the Pole Vault posting a 2nd and 3rd. Junior Erika Newhouse posted a runner up finish in the Long Jump and scored points in the 300 Meter Hurdles behind Nuber in 5th. In the throws Senior Sarah Beth Tripp and Sophomore Brooklyn Young scored 6th and 8th while in Disc the duo went 3rd and 7th. Hale added a 5th in the 100 Meter Dash while Sophomore Taylor Campbell scored in 7th.
