OHTF Golden Eagles Finish 2nd at Conference just 2.5 Points out of 1st - Tippey Wins Multiple Events, Scott Breaks 100m Meet Record

For the 2nd straight weekend the OHTF Golden Eagles fought hard but ultimately came painfully short of a team championship. Last week it was 1.5 points from a Grant 4 title and Friday at Madison Grant it was 2.5 points away from their 16th Central Indiana Conference title in the last 19 seasons. Eastbrook was strong all night and won the event with 142 points. The Golden Eagles finished with 139.5 just ahead of Grant 4 Champion Mississinewa who finished with 135. The 2nd place finish for the Golden Eagles marked the 23rd straight season the men have finished in the top 2 at the conference meet. Senior Corban Tippey was the lone multi-event winner on the night for the Golden Eagles as he individually won the 3200 Meter Run. Tippey also anchored the winning 4x800 Meter Relay. The relay consisted of Tippey, classmate Caden Myers, Junior Wyatt Hart, and Sophomore Christian Smiley. The Golden Eagle foursome would score solid points all night combining to score 54 points in the endurance events with Tippey and Hart adding a 2nd and 3rd in the 1600 Meter Run and Myers and Smiley doing the same in the 800 Meter Run. Junior Jalen Scott broke the Conference Meet Record in the 100 Meter Dash clocking a impressive time in cold wet conditions of 10.78. Scott added a runner up finish in the 4x100 Meter Relay. He was joined on the relay by classmates Dylan Archer and Cayden Jones along with Freshman Tayt Bowlin. Archer added points in the 100 with a 6th and as part of the 4th place 4x400 Meter Relay along with Myers, Senior Marc Caritos, and Junior Luke Elzinga. Elzinga was the only other event winner on the night for the Golden Eagles winning a sloppy Long Jump event with a jump over 21 feet. His night also included a 4th in High Jump and 400 Meter Dash. Caritos added points in the open 400 behind Elzinga in 7th. Jones took 4th in the Long Jump and 5th in the 200 Meter Dash which Scott had to miss due to a injury lat e in the meet. Juniors Kyle Brower and Meyer Middlesworth recorded a solid 2-3 in the Pole Vault. In the throws Senior Thane Jones took 4th in the Shot Put while Sophomore Tristin Grinslade scored in 7th. Freshman Dylan Hardcastle scored in both the 110 Meter Hurdles and 300 Meter Hurdles while Junior Rocky Johnson scored in the 300 Meter Hurdles from the 1st heat. Sophomore Noah Wagner put points on the board in the High Jump.
