OHTF Golden Eagles Close Out Regular Season with 102-30 Win on Senior Night Over Northfield - Seniors Caritos, Graves, Myers, & Tippey All Win 2 Events

The OHTF Golden Eagles closed out the 2026 regular season Wednesday at home winning 13 of 16 events to beat visiting Northfield in a Dual meet 120-30. In all 5 of the 8 Golden Eagle Seniors won events, with 4 of them winning multi-events. Marc Caritos, Jerald Graves, Caden Myers, and Corban Tippey all won 2 Events. Thane Jones was the 5th member of the Class of 2026 to win an event. Caritos, Myers, and Tippey all grabbed a win in the 4x400 Meter Relay along with Junior Dylan Archer. Caritos added an individual win in the 400 Meter Dash. Myers and Tippey joined forces with Junior Wyatt Hart and Sophomore Christian Smiley to win the 4x800 Meter Relay as well. Competing for the varsity for the 1st time all year Graves won the 100 Meetr Dash and then anchored with winning 4x100 Meter Relay along with Archer, Junior Cayden Jones, and Freshman Tayt Bowlin. Thane Jones grabbed his individual win in the Shot Put. Archer and Cayden Jones were part of 4 OHTF Underclassmen who won multi-events on the night. Cayden Jones also won the Long Jump. Hart added an individual win in the 1600 Meter Run, while Freshman Dylan Hardcastle swept the 100 and 300 Meter Hurdles. Other event winners on the night were Junior Luke Elzinga in the Long Jump and Junior Kyle Brower in the Pole Vault. Brower posted a jump of 14-6 which is the 2nd best in program history 2nd only to current OHTF Assistant Coach Gavin Holz's 15 foot record. Sophomore Josh Clark added a win in the 3200 Meter Run leading a 1-2-3 charge with Sophomore Grant Melton in 2nd and Freshman Graham Arrendale in 3rd. Clark, Arrendale, and Melton also managed a 2-3-4 in the 1600 behind Hart. Some other Golden Eagle runner up finishes on the day were Tippey 2nd in the 800 Meter Dash, Elzinga 2nd in the Long Jump to Jones, Bowlin 2nd in the 100 to Graves, Graves 2nd in the 200 Meter Dash, Sophomore Jesse Zwirn 2nd to Elzinga in the High Jump to post a 1-2-3 finish in the event with Sophomore Noah Wagner in 3rd. Smiley added a 2nd in the 400 to Caritos while Junior Rocky Johnson took 2nd in the 300 Hurdles behind Hardcastle. Junior Tristin Grinslade grabbed a 2nd in the Discus. Other Class of 2026 Golden Eagles that competed tonight were Blake Waggle who posted 5th in the Disc, Jared Prickett who took 7th in Shot Put, and Logan Walls who took 8th in both throws. The Golden Eagles wrapped up the regular season with a record of 14-5-1 including a Grant 4 and Central Indiana Conference Runner Up finish by a combined 4 points. The Golden Eagle Throwers compete "individually" Saturday May 16th in the Bluffton Throwers Showcase. IHSAA Tourney Series action starts Thursday May 21st when the Golden Eagles compete in the Marion Sectional.
