The OHXC Lady Eagles started off their 2026 season with a strong showing at the near 20 team Terre Haute South Valley Kickoff held on the world famous Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course Wednesday with a 3rd Place finish behind large schools Terre Haute North and Terre Haute South. North won with 53 points with South 2nd with 56. The Lady Eagles scored 67. Cascade with 82 and Northview 134 round out the Top 5. Lady Eagle Senior Quinn Brunner led the way with a solid 5th Place overall. Brunner recorded the 8th best time by a Lady Eagle on the historic course - the fastest by someone not named Hornocker or Gamble. Junior Lilly Hunt joined Brunner on the Top 10 Podium with a 10th place finish. Junior Rossi Skinner just missed out on the podium with a 12th. Sophomores Shelby Hollingsworth and Elayna Cates made the most of their 1st ever 5k races finishing 23rd and 27th respectively. Senior Lilly Snyder was 30th. The Top 7 was rounded out by Sophomore Izzy Ybarra coming 58th. The Lady Eagles are back in action next Tuesday when they compete in the Bloomington North Charlie Warthan Hokum Karem.
