A very successful season for the Class 2a #5 ranked OHXC Lady Eagles came to an end Saturday with a solid Top 20 finish at the IHSAA Manchester Super Regional. It was the 4th straight season the Lady Eagle's season came to an end on the door step of the IHSAA State Finals. The ladies came in 19th in the 25 team field. Homestead, ranked #1 in the State in one single class poll and #3 in another won the team title with 65 points. It was the Lady Eagle's 10th Top 20 at the Super Regional/ Semi State in the last 12 seasons. Senior Lady Eagle Quinn Brunner had a solid run to end her career and stellar final season with a 65th overall finish in 20:07. It was Brunner's 3rd fastest time of the season and almost a minute faster than her Super Regional run a year ago. Brunner was trying to possibly become the 1st Lady Eagle to advance to the State Finals since 2019 and had to get out very fast in the Top 40 to have the that chance before settling back in the field late. Coming in close behind Brunner was Junior Lilly Hunt in 73rd in a solid time of 20:22. Like Brunner, Hunt's time was one of her faster times on the season. Junior Rossi Skinner came in 173rd, while Sophomore Shelby Hollingsworth and Freshman Lucy Devers rounded out strong 1st year's in the sport with a 183rd and 185th finish to close out the Varsity scoring 5. Senior Lilly Snyder concluded her career with a 222nd place finish with Freshman Verity Bishop wrapping up the varsity 7 in 226th. The Lady Eagle's season came to close with a major Invite title at Marion and strong Runner Up finishes at the Grant 4, Central Indiana Conference Meet, and IHSAA Marion Sectional.
