The Boys Varsity Soccer Golden Eagles faced off against the Marion Giants tonight bringing back a county rivalry and what a game it was ending 3-3. Seth David started off the scoring early in the 1st half to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. The Eagles continued and took a 2-0 lead midway through the 1st half with a goal by Cameron Aguilar assisted by Noah Thompson. The Giants answered back to tie the game 2-2 before the half. The Eagles started the 2nd half off strong scoring in the 52nd minute. Luke Elzinga gave the Eagles a 3-2 lead with a goal assisted by his brother, Drew Elzinga. The Giants were able to score to tie the game up 3-3 in the 61st minute. The Eagles finished the 2nd half off extremely strong putting numerous shoots on frame forcing the Giants keeper to make several saves. The Eagles goalie Collin Kreitzer had 8 saves and was able to lock down our goal and had a great game tonight. The Eagles go into next week with a huge week! Our first home game is Tuesday - we would love to see everyone come out and support these young men as we play another county rivalry game vs. Eastbrook - Home on Tuesday, August 27th at 6 pm.
