For the 2nd straight weekend the OHXC Golden Eagles earned hardware at a major Invitational, this time traveling South to Brown County and grabbing a Team Championship at the 23rd annual prestigious Eagle Classic. The Golden Eagles were Runner Up at last weekend's Marion Invitational. Saturday running without their #2 runner the Golden Eagles still managed to out pace Perry Central to win the 24 Team Small School Division field with 99 points. Perry Central was 2nd with 109. Junior Corban Tippey led the way earning a Top 10 Medal in 7th overall. Sophomore Kyle Brower had a carer best race in 17:40 to also earn a Top 10 Medal finishing 10th. Sophomore Wyatt Hart continued his breakout season missing a medal but grabbing a Top 25 Podium Finish in 17th overall. Senior Owen Roth was 34th with Freshman Josh Clark having a breakout race finishing a very strong 37th rounding out the Varsity Top 5 scorers. The Varsity Top 7 was rounded out with Sophomore Eli Leak finishing 42nd and Freshman Gavin Key taking a respectable 49th. The event as a whole featured 11 Top 25 State Ranked Teams including #2, #3, #4, #5, and #10. The Golden Eagles are off until the Grant 4 Championship Meet on Tuesday September 24th.
