The OHXC Golden Eagles closed out a busy week with a highly respectable 3rd place finish in the 40 Team Closed Division (Class 1a-2a-3a) at Saturday's Culver Academy Invitational. Fresh off their 9th straight Grant 4 Championship this past Tuesday the Golden Eagles packed it up to score 178 points for 3rd trailing only event Champion Fairfield and Runner Up South Bend St. Joe. Junior Golden Eagle Corban Tippey led the effort earning a Top 30 Medal in 9th Place. Sophomore Wyatt Hart just missed the podium taking 33rd. After Hart the Golden Eagle's remaining Top 5 scorers came across closely linked with Sophomore Kyle Brower finishing 41st, Senior Owen Roth 47th, and Freshman Josh Clark 56th. The Golden Eagle's Varsity Top 7 was rounded out by Sophomore Eli Leak in 81st and Freshman Bret Hueston coming in at 96th. The Golden Eagle's concluded the regular season portion of the schedule with a record against 1a-2a-3a schools this fall of 97-14 including 3 losses to a talented Fairfield squad and a loss to State Ranked Fort Wayne Concordia. Only 3 of those losses come against Class 1a-2a competition. The Golden Eagles compete for a Central Indiana Conference Championship Saturday October 5th at Indiana Wesleyan University.
