It was a tale of two different teams Tuesday night! After getting beat handily on Saturday, the Golden Eagles responded with gritty determination and heart, to get the big 32 point victory defeating the visiting Comets 73-41. The boys came out competing with fire dismantling the Comets after a fairly close first quarter, winning the 2nd quarter by 10 taking a 16 point lead to the half up 38-22. They did not let up in the 2nd half as they poured it on winning that half by 16 as well! It was a balanced attack on both ends of the floor for the Eagles! RJ Shugart led the way with a team high 21 points, 5 assists, 4 steals and 3 rebounds. Jace Tonagel stayed hot scoring 18 points, dishing out 4 assists, with 4 steals and a pair of rebounds. Landon Watts was big off the bench scoring 9 points and bringing down 5 boards. Lamb, Lawson, Elzinga and Cruzan each contributed 6 points with Elzinga grabbing a team high 6 boards, Lawson grabbing 5 rebounds and Cruzan 4. Rounding out the scoring was KD Simmons scoring 1. The Golden Eagles will travel to Norwell for their next game this coming Saturday.
