The Golden Eagles found themselves down after losing every quarter and being down by 10 with about 2 minutes in the game, but the Eagles never gave up! Jace Tonagel hit a big 3, then got a steal for 2 more to get it close. RJ Shugart hit a layup and 2 big free throws down the stretch, and a steal at the end of the game got passed to Ryan Lawson who hit a big layup to tie the game. We then got the ball back with 2 seconds and Shugart got fouled at the rim but time had expired about a half second, and the game went into overtime. In overtime Peru scored first going up 2, and then Owen Middlesworth hit a huge baseline jumper to tie it up. Then Shugart hit 2 big free throws to tie it up again after Peru scored. Tonagel finished the game off with a bucket and 2 free throws to seal the deal, as the Eagles completed the comeback victory 77-73! Jace Tonagel finished with a career high 39 points. He also had 5 assists and 6 rebounds. Owen Middlesworth had 12 points with three big 3’s and a huge baseline jumper in overtime. He also had 2 assists and 2 rebounds. RJ Shugart saddled with foul trouble early on ended up with 9 points and hit 2 big pressure free throws in the 4th and 2 more in overtime going 4-4. Rounding out the scoring: Beckham Lamb had 6, Landon Cruzan 5, Landon Watts with 4, and Lawson with his 2 to send it to overtime! The Eagles travel to Southwood this Tuesday night to take on the Knights!
