8th Grade Boys Basketball goes 3-0 at Warren Central Invitational

The Eagles went down to Warren Central to take on three 4A schools and came out on top in all three games. to improve to 17-0. Game 1 was against Fishers and was the best team the boys have played all year and they stepped up to the challenge. We jumped out to a 14-5 first quarter lead. Fishers came back and made it a 4 point game at the half, as we lead 23-19. After a slow start to the second half and getting down 1, the boys went on a 9-0 run to take a 34-26 lead at the end of the third. Then with 15 seconds left in the game, and the Eagles holding on to a 2 point lead, they stopped Fishers on the last possession to win 43-41. Will Tonagel Lead the team with 18 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds. Soloman Boswell 12 points and 7 rebounds. Logan Westgate had 11 points and 4 rebounds. Alex Higdon finished out the scoring with 2 points. The second game was against Highland. The boys jumped out to a 44-14 lead at the half and never looked back, winning 64-33. Tonagel had 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assist. Hidgon finished with 10 points and 4 assists. Cristian Pavey had 8 points and 6 rebounds. Boswell 6, Westgate 4, Cullen Lainhart 4, Matthew Lawson 2 points and 7 rebounds, Tayt Bowlin 1 to round out the scoring. The final game was against Warren Central. The Eagles started strong and kept building on it every quarter. They were up 20-6 after the first. Then took a 38-17 lead into halftime and finished by winning 60-30. Tonagel finished with 29 points and 3 assist. Higdon and Westgate finished with 10 points and 3 rebounds each. Boswell had 7 points, 4 assist and 4 rebounds. Lawson had 2 points and 5 offensive rebounds and 2 assist. Pavey rounded out the scoring with 2 points. The Eagles play again on Wednesday, January 15th, at Taylor at 7pm.
