The Golden Eagles got punched in the mouth at Blackford as the Bruins were hit and the Eagles were not, getting down 20-0, and losing the 1st quarter 2-20. They fought back in the 2nd with Landon Watts leading the charge with his aggressive defense getting the lead cut to 9, but gave up 24 points in the 3rd quarter and ended up losing 40-66. Scoring for the Eagles: Tonagel with 18, Shugart with 13, Lawson with 5, Watts with 2, and Elzinga and Simmons with 1 each. The Golden Eagles are now tied a top the Conference with a chance to be co-champions if they defeat Elwood next Friday night. That game will be played at Swayzee gym. The Golden Eagles will play tomorrow night at Logansport with a 6pm JV tip off. Then they will travel to Tipton in Tuesday before the matchup with Elwood Friday.
