On the last home game of the season, and senior night, the Golden Eagles knocked off the Delta Eagles by a final score of 58 to 50! The Golden Eagles came out determined with their defense and offensive play building a 31 to 10 halftime lead. It was probably the best half of basketball the Golden Eagles have played all year long heading into sectional play. Then the Golden Eagles held on in the second half as Delta came out, determined as well out scoring the Golden Eagles 17 to 9 in the third and making it close. The Golden Eagles hit some big shots late in the third and in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Jace Tonagel ended up with 20 points, 7 assists and 3 rebounds. RJ Shugart ended up with 16 points with an assist and pair of rebounds. Landon Cruzan had 12 points a pair of assists and 3 rebounds. Landon Watts had 5 points and 5 rebounds. Owen Middlesworth had 3 points, a rebound, an assist. Luke Elzinga had 2 points and 5 rebounds. Owen Roth had a pair of rebounds, and Ryan Lawson had a rebound. The Golden Eagles ended the regular season with a really good 16-6 record and CIC conference champions! The Golden Eagles will play their first sectional game Friday night versus the winner of Wabash and Lewis Cass.
