The Golden Eagles were punched out of the gate by a strong Manchester team falling behind 0-19 in the first quarter. The Golden Eagles found themselves down 10-35 at halftime. After being challenged at halftime the Golden Eagles came out and fought hard winning the 3rd quarter 22-20, with RJ Shugart leading the way with 20 consecutive points for the Eagles in the quarter. In the end the 3rd ranked in the state Squires just proved to be the better team on the night with their 6-8 star leading them with 40 points. RJ Shugart led the team with 22 points and had 3 rebounds. Jace Tonagel had 5 points and an assist. Luke Elzinga had 4 points and a rebound. Landon Watts had 3 points and a rebound. Ryan Lawson had 2 points and a pair of rebounds. Beckham Lamb had 2 points, and Owen Middlesworth had 4 rebounds. That concludes a very successful season as the Golden Eagles finished 17-7, Conference Champions, and sectional runner up. The winter awards banquet will be this Thursday night starting at 7pm.
