OHTF Golden Eagles Start Outdoor Season by Winning 13 Events Beating Maconaquah 95-37 - Wyrick Wins 4 Events, Scott Wins 3

The OHTF Golden Eagles opened the 2025 Outdoor Season with a very strong effort against a talented Maconaquah Team winning 13 of the 16 events including 5 1-2 Event Sweeps. Golden Eagle Senior Lance Wyrick led the way with 4 1st Place Finishes with Sophomore Jalen Scott winning 3 events. Senior Drew Elzinga, Senior Morshown Cotton, Junior Corban Tippey, Junior Caden Myers, and Freshman Jesse Zwirn were all multi event winners. Wyrick individually won the 1600 Meter Run and 800 Meter Run while also anchoring the winning 4x800 Meter Relay and 4x400 Meter Relay. Wyrick was joined on both relays by Myers. The 4x8 also consisted of Junior Eli Leak and Tippey. Joining Wyrick and Myers on the 4x4 were Elzinga and Cotton. Cotton, Elzinga, and Tippey were all also individual event winners as Cotton won the 400 Meter Run, Elzinga took the 110 Meter Hurdles, with Tippey claiming the 3200 Meter Run. Scott took individual wins in both the 100 Meter Dash and 200 Meter Dash while anchoring the winning 4x100 Meter Relay. The relay consisted of Seniors Seth David and Reese Hernandez along with Zwirn. Scott posted Program Top 10 All Time Marks in both events while the 4x1 was just outside the Top 5 All Time. Zwirn came back to win the High Jump while also being part of a 1-2-3 sweep in 100 with Scott and Cotton. Hernandez helped take a 1-2 sweep in the 200 with Scott. Other individual event winners on the night were Senior Trey McDowell in the Disc and Sophomore Luke Elzinga in the Long Jump. Elzinga broke the 20 foot barrier for the 1st time making him 1 of just over 30 athletes to do so in Program History. Additional solid Runner Up finishes on the night came from Sophomore Kyle Brower in the Pole Vault, David in the Long Jump, Junior Thane Jones in the Shot Put, Myers in the 800, Drew Elzinga in the 300 Hurdles, and Senior Owen Roth in the 3200. The Golden Eagles are back in action next Tuesday April 15th when they travel to Frankton for a triangular meet with Frankton and Sheridan.
