The OHTF Golden Eagles won a quad meet Tuesday over host Madison Grant, Blackford, and Faith Christian. Despite resting many athletes in prep for this weekend's Grant 4 Championship the Golden Eagles still managed to score 96 points winning 6 events and taking 2nd place in another 7. In a competitive meet all the way around Madison Grant was 2nd with 55 points, Faith Christian 3rd with 46 points, while Blackford finished with 37. In all the Golden Eagles had 5 different athletes win an individual event also adding 4 different event winners from the 4x100 Relay which included Seniors Seth David, Reese Hernandez, and Morshown Cotton along with Freshman Jesse Zwirn. Individual winners on the night were Senior Drew Elizinga in the 110 Meter Hurdles, Senior Lance Wyrick in the 800 Meter Run, Junior Corban Tippey in the 1600 Meter Run, and Sophomores Kyle Brower in the Pole Vault and Luke Elzinga in the Long Jump. Drew Elzinga also grabbed a 2nd place in the 300 Meter Hurdles while his brother Luke grabbed a 2nd in the 400 meter Dash. Junior Caden Myers was 2nd to Wyrick in the 800, while Zwirn added a 2nd in the High Jump. David took 2nd in the 200 Meter Dash. The 4x400 Meter Relay team of Seniors Micah McKinney and Owen Middlesworth along with Junior Caritos and Freshman Christian took 2nd as did the 4x800 Meter Relay of Caritos and Smiley along with Senior Owen Roth and Freshman Josh Clark. Solid 3rd place finishes on the night were Freshman Ben Babinski in the Pole Vault, Cotton in the 200, Senior Thane Jones in the Shot Put, Junior Eli Leak in both the 1600 and 3200, Mckinney in the 300 Hurdles, and Hernandez in the open 100 Meter Dash. The Golden Eagles who now have a varsity record of 19-4 compete in the Grant 4 Championship Friday May 2nd back at Madison Grant.
