The Lady Eagles stole the CIC plate last night in their 8-6 victory against the Frankton Eagles. It was a pitchers battle for the first 4 innings with no runs scored for either team. Oak Hill scored first in the 5th inning. Madi Evans started off with a single into left field. Then with 2 outs, senior Liz Godfrey hits a beautiful shot into left center to score Evans. Ryleigh Myers and Lex Myers followed up with singles of their own, but we left on base after the third out was made by their 2nd baseman. Frankton answered with a run after a walk and a fielding error by Oak Hill. Oak Hill broke the score open in the 6th scoring 6 runs. Karsyn Wiley hit a hard shot down the third base line for a single. Madison Archer drew a walk, followed by M. Evans who laid down a beautiful sacrifice bunt to advance the runners. Becca Cardona came up and hit the ball up the middle to score both runs and advanced to 2nd due to smart baserunning. L. Godfrey took a pitch to the leg to obtain first base. Ryleigh Myers was then able to lay down a slap and beat out the throw to first thus loading the bases. Senior Alexa Myers then hits a beautiful shot over the centerfielder's head to score all 3 runners and reach second base. Jolee Hawkins follows up with another hit into right center to score pinch runner Riley Archer. The Frankton Eagles were able to score 5 unearned runs after an error, some walks, and hitting a couple batters do to the rain. Pathie Speicher came in and was able to end the inning Oak Hill scored 1 more run in the 7th inning to make the score 8-6. M. Archer walked and was moved over by B. Cardona. Pathie Speicher scored her on a hit to the shortstop. R. Myers went 3-for-4 scoring 1 run. L. Myers went 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs. B. Cardona went 2-for-4 scoring 1 run and had 2RBIs. Karsyn Wiley pitched almost 6 innings for Oak Hill. She had 3 strikeouts. Pathie Speicher came in for relief in the 6th to finish the game. The Lady Eagles return to play today against Marion.
