The OHTF Lady Eagles won 11 of 16 events and scored a meet record 212 points in Friday's Central Indiana Conference Meet to win their 14th Straight Conference Championship. The Lady Eagles managed to score 2 athletes in all 13 individual events, won all 3 relays, and earned a 1-2 sweep in 3 events. The previous meet record for points was established in 2015 when the Lady Eagles scored 211 points. They also broke 200 points in 2013 at 209.5. Eastbrook finished 2nd over 100 points behind the Lady Eagles with 96 points. The Lady Eagles finished with 13 All Conference Honors. Lady Eagle Senior Ellie Campbell became the 1st Lady Eagle to win all 4 of her events at the Conference Meet as she took individual wins in the 100 Meter Dash, 200 Meter Dash, Long Jump, and High Jump. Her time of 12.6 in the 100 broke the school record of 12.7 set by Campbell herself a week ago along with R. Schwarze in 1979. Her time in the 200 of under 27 seconds was the 3rd fastest in school history and her mark in Long Jump of 17-11.75 on her 1st jump of the competition broke the meet record she established last year of 17-10. Junior Lady Eagle Lexi Nuber and Freshman Bri Dailey were also multi event winners on the night. Nuber swept both hurdle races winning the 100 Meter Hurdle and 300 Meter Hurdles Races while leading off the winning 4x400 Meter Relay. Dailey joined Nuber on the relay along with Sophomore Lilly Edwards and Junior Audrey Rex. Dailey individually won the 400 Meter Dash. The only other individual event win on the night for the Lady Eagles came from Senior Jennessa Shields who won the Disc with an impressive mark of 115-8, a mark good for 4th all time in program history. Shields also added a 2nd in the Shot Put. The 4x800 Meter Relay and 4x100 Meter Relay also grabbed wins. The 4x8 consisted of Junior Biruk Travis, Sophomores Erika Newhouse and Quinn Brunner, along with Freshman Lilly Hunt. The 4x1 was comprised of Seniors Cail Bowlin and Riley Alfandre, along with Junior Ava Keith and Sophomore Annie Hale. Bowlin, Brunner, Newhouse, and Hunt added big points throughout the night claiming a combined 7 Top 3 finishes. Bowlin took 2nd in the 200 behind Campbell while also taking 3rd in the 100. Brunner took 3rd in both the 1600 and 3200. Newhouse posted a pair of Runner Up finishes in the Long Jump behind Campbell and in the 300 Hurdles behind Nuber. Hunt added a Runner Up finish in the 800 Meter Run. Senior Abby Sneed added a Runner Up finish in the Pole Vault. Edwards took 2nd in the 400 behind Dailey. The Lady Eagle compete Monday in an Triangular meet at Northfield and on Tuesday May 20th in the IHSAA Marion Sectional.
