The OHTF Throwers completed Saturday in the Bluffton Throwers Showcase. The annual even features and showcases some of the area's top throwers. OHTF took a full roster of throwers led by Coach Terry McDowell. Senior Lady Eagle Jennessa Shields had a strong day winning the Disc with another throw over 110 feet and earned another podium finish in the Shot Put with a 3rd. Both events featured nearly 40 competitors. Classmate Gwen Thompson made the finals in the Shot Put as well just missing the podium but still earning a Top 10 Finish. On the Golden Eagles side Junior Thane Jones was the top finisher also earning a spot in the finals in Shot Put but just missing the Top 8 medal podium finishing 9th. OHTF Competitors on the day were Shields, Thompson, Junior Madelyn Cheek, along with Freshmen Brooklyn Young and Aubree Barcomb on the Lady Eagle's side. Jones was joined on the Golden Eagles side by Senior brother Barrett Jones, his classmates Trey McDowell and Gabe Arthur, along with Sophomore Tristin Grinslade. The OHTF Throwers along with the rest of the OHTF roster start IHSAA Tourney Series action this week with the Girls Sectional Tuesday and the Boys Sectional Thursday both at Marion.
