OHJHTF Golden Eagle Brantley Blair Finishes Runner Up at Middle School State Championships - Breaks Meet & School Record in Process

OHJH Golden Eagle Brantley Blair finished 2nd at Saturday's Annual Middle School State Championships in the 2400 Meter Run. The event as always was held on Indiana State University's campus. Blair battled back and forth with the eventual State Champ Cooper Jaynes of Brownsburg turning in an impressive time of 7:14.4 just .17 behind 1st. Not only did Blair's time better his own OHTF Program Record of 7:34 but with the winner also broke the State Meet Record in the event with both athletes surpassing the old record by 7 seconds. Blair had entered the event as the 3 seed. His Runner Up finish is also the best ever at the event for a OHJH Athlete. The previous best was 6th Place. Blair just a 7th Grader had a breakout Spring setting program records in the 1600 Meter Run, 2400 Meter Run, and 3200 Meter Run. He just missed setting the 800 Meter Run record as well. Blair also established a new Central Indiana Conference Meet record in the 2400. Blair will now prepare for the Middle School National Meet later this month.
