The OHXC Lady Eagles hosted and competed against some of the State's best small and medium sized schools Saturday in the annual Oak Hill Invitational. The Lady Eagles posted multiple personal best marks in ultimately taking a strong 4th Place in the 11 team field behind #11 State Ranked Hamilton Heights and two of the State's top ranked small schools in Heritage Christian and Fairfield. Arguably one the best medium sized teams in the state Hamilton Heights won with a low 27 points. A young very talented Heritage Christian was 2nd with 61 while Fairfield was 3rd with 66. The Lady Eagles totaled 107 to outdistance a Top 10 ranked small school team in Bluffton for 5th with 125 points. The Lady Eagles were led by Senior Biruk Travis who posted a Top 15 medal finish in 13th. Junior Quinn Brunner and Sophomore Rossi Skinner, along with classmate Lilly Hunt all posted Top 25 Podium finishes. Brunner was just out of the medals in 18th while Skinner was 20th and Hunt 24th. Brunner and Skinner both posted big personal bests both moving into the Program's All Time Top 20. To show the increased level of competitiveness within this year's field, Travis who is ranked in the Top 10 in Program History already ran 20:32 Saturday to finish 13th. In 2022 and 2023 Travis was the event Runner Up in just under 21 minutes. Senior Sophia Rowland, Junior Lilly Snyder, and Senior Kaitlyn Scalf rounded out the Varsity Top 7 with a trio of respectable Top 40 finishes in 33rd, 37th, and 38th. The Lady Eagles compete next Saturday September 6th in the Columbus North Invitational.
