OHXC Lady Eagles Win 2nd Straight Conference Championship - Travis Wins. Brunner, Skinner, Hunt, & Scalf Earn 1st Team All CIC Honors

The OHXC Lady Eagles took the 1st two spots and 5 of the Top 10 to capture Saturday's Central Indiana Conference Championship held at IWU. Senior Biruk Travis was your Individual Champion, Junior Quinn Brunner was Individual Runner Up, and in all the Lady Eagles had 7 athletes earn All Conference Honors to score a low 25 points to win their 2nd consecutive Conference Championship - the 11th for the program in the last 13 years. Mississinewa was 2nd with 60 points while Eastbrook was 3rd with 63. For Travis it was her 2nd CIC Individual Title in her career. It marked the 11th time in the last 14 seasons a Lady Eagle was the Individual Champion. She became just 1 of 5 Lady Eagles to win multiple CIC Titles along with Jenna Norris, Shallen Lenhart, Margo Hornocker, and Mollie Gamble. Behind Travis Brunner led a group of Lady Eagles that on average dropped well over a full minute from their times at the CIC meet a year ago to join Travis on the CIC All 1st Team. Brunner was 2nd while Sophomores Rossi Skinner and Lilly Hunt were 5th and 7th respectively. Senior Katilyn Scalf had a great day as she grabbed the final Top 10 1st Team spot taking 10th overall. It was Travis's 3rd 1st Team Selection in her career, the 2nd for Brunner, and the 1st for all other athletes. The Lady Eagles had 2 additional athletes earn All Conference accolades as Senior Sophia Rowland just missed the 1st Team cut off taking 11th overall with Junior Lilly Snyder coming in 13th. For their efforts in the Top 20 Rowland and Snyder earned Honorable Mention All Conference Honors. Just missing an All Conference Selection was Freshman Izzy Ybarra taking 22nd. Finishing out her career for OHXC was Lady Eagle Senior Lydia Trexler who came in a respectable 28th. The Lady Eagles currently ranked #9 in Class 2a are off this week but then start IHSAA Tournament competition the next week competing in the Marion Sectional on Saturday October 18th back at IWU.
