OHXC Golden Eagles Finish Sectional Runner Up to State Ranked Yorktown Team Advancing to the Regional for the 26th Straight Year - Tippey, Hart, Clark, & Sommers All Top 15 All Sectional Performers

The OHXC Golden Eagles had a solid showing Saturday at the IHSAA Marion Sectional finishing Runner Up to a State Top 15 Ranked (one class) Yorktown Team earning their 26th Straight trip to the IHSAA Regional next Saturday. Yorktown who is the #1 Ranked Class 3a Team won with a near perfect 16 points. The Golden Eagles ranked #2 in Class 2a had not lost a meet in almost 2 months but took second with 71 points outdistancing Marion, Muncie Central, and Mississinewa. The Golden Eagles have finished in the Top 3 at the Sectional for 14 straight years and have finished as Champion or Runner Up 6 times the last 7 years. The Golden Eagles were led by Senior Corban Tippey who took 9th overall. Junior Wyatt Hart was close behind in 11th with Sophomore Josh Clark taking 13th and Senior Brayden Sommers 14th. For their Top 15 efforts all 4 Golden Eagles were All Sectional Performers and traditional Regional Qualifiers. Freshman Cooper McQuiston was the 5th scoring man in 24th. Junior Eli Leak and Sophomore Bret Hueston had respectable days in 25th and 34th. The Golden Eagles compete for a spot in the IHSAA State Finals next Saturday October 25th at the IHSAA New Haven Super Regional held at Huntington University.
